TRANSCRIPTS OF LOCAL RECORDS
NOW AVAILABLE ON USB MEMORY STICKS

Members of Burntwood Family History Group have transcribed a large number of records from Burntwood and its surrounding towns and villages, including indexes or full transcriptions of many parish and non-conformist registers, and hospital burial registers. 

Until recently, these transcriptions could be purchased from Burntwood Family History Group on CD, and limited stocks of those CDs still remain. However, modern computers and laptops are often sold now without a disc drive. To ensure that we can continue to provide researchers with access to our transcripts, we are now making them available for purchase on USB memory sticks. Thanks to the hard work and technical expertise of Bernard Daniels, our Transcription Project Coordinator, the USB memory sticks contain the software to search the transcriptions contained on the USB, which are in the form of accessible PDF files.

One advantage of this method of distribution is that it is possible to include more than one transcription on a single USB memory stick. This is reflected in the pricing structure, which is inclusive of postage and packaging within the UK. {Please contact us for the cost of packaging and posting outside the United Kingdom}. Please note that 8 is the maximum number of transcriptions that can be included on a single USB memory stick.

For Burntwood Family History Group Members:
the price will be £4.00 for the USB memory stick plus £2.00 for each transcription. So, for 1 transcription the total cost will be £6.00, for 2 transcriptions £8.00, for 3 transcriptions £10.00 and so on up to the maximum of 8 transcription for £20.

For non-members:
the price will be £4.00 for the USB memory stick plus £3.00 for each transcription. So, for 1 transcription the total cost will be £7.00, for 2 transcriptions £10.00, for 3 transcriptions £13.00 and so on up to the maximum of 8 transcription for £28.

8 is the maximum number of transcriptions that can be included on one USB memory stick.

To purchase one or more of our transcriptions on a USB memory stick, please contact us with your name and address, telephone number and E-mail address, and the numbers and names of the transcription(s) that you require. Payment can be by bank transfer or by cheque, made payable in sterling to 'Burntwood Family History Group'. We will provide you with the other details that you need when you contact us.

As with all efforts to transcribe old, sometimes difficult to read documents, errors can occur. If you find an error, contact us with the details of the error and the correction to be made. Corrections will then be made for future editions of that transcription.
